It’s Follow-Up Friday!

Thank you to all who commented and shared your opinions and experiences on the vaccine subject. I realize it can be a sensitive issue. I LOVE receiving your comments so if you still feel like you have something to share on this subject, please do!

Also, I wanted to share with you a book I found extremely helpful as I was navigating my way through vaccinating my daughter. The Vaccine Book by Dr. Bob Sears is an objective look at each vaccine. It provides an alternative vaccine schedule if you fall in to the category of wanting to vaccinate your child but want to spread them out. Here is the link http://www.thevaccinebook.com/

Have a fantastic Friday!

That book sounds great. When my kids were babies/younger, I toiled over every vaccine they got. I was one of those moms that made the nurses give each shot separately, because I was nervous about them getting so many at one time! I think it's important to be educated, to look at both sides as objectively as possible, and, like you say, follow that mommy intution! Great posts!

    Hugs,
    Genny

Vaccines are tough because the risk is all on your kids, but the benefits go to the whole community. My girls are both on schedule (although had my #2 come at a less crazy time, I might have spaced them out).

Here is why I believe in vaccines:
A few years ago, we missed our flu shots. I never got them before having my first, and never really liked them. And I never get the flu. Except that year. I got the flu when I was about 1 week pregnant. I gave it to my whole family (husband, daughter, in-laws, dad). My dad gave it to my mom. From there, I don't know where it spread. We all came out okay, but I had a miscarriage a few weeks later. Maybe getting the shot wouldn't have helped, but it might have stopped the spread.

Thanks for the info on vaccines. I have always worried about it on and off. I need to get more educated on the subject, so I can understand it better. Thanks!
