This past weekend, we spent 24 hours together as a family. I know, I know…we are always together as a family. This is true. However, we are usually scurrying from one place to the next. Our meals are rushed. Our talk is rushed and time spent in the car is often too long. Not to mention the phones, the computer, and the TV that often interrupts our actual face time.
We did something spontaneous on Saturday. We packed our bags and headed off for Lake Tahoe.
We returned to our room, completely exhausted…as a family. We slept.
We awoke with anticipation of the gondola ride. We rode, gazed in amazement at the incredible views.
We returned to our car, exuberant after an incredible 24 hours.
We connected. Completely. Without interruptions. No computers, no TVs, no cell phones.
In 24 hours. And it was just what we all needed.
How was your weekend? How do you make room for “face time” with your kids?
What a fabulous weekend! I'm glad you had fun. I just read that Tahoe had just ended their ski season! Wow! I can't believe it lasted until July!
That sounds like a wonderful weekend!
Sometimes it's just so hard to get away…routines and chores seem SO overly important. But then you escape, like you guys did, and you remember just what life and family is really all about.
And it totally changes your perspective. So glad you got away and had so much fun!
Well, this weekend wasn't exactly like that, but I remember some incredible vacation moments — and thankfully, so do the boys.
Glad you had such a great time!!
That sounds perfect. I cannot wait for our vacation! (Love the pictures – your kids are too cute. Big Brother with his arm around Little Sister? Adorableness overload.)
What a wonderful weekend! Great pictures, too. That's the beauty of a trip… getting away from friends, schools and technology!!
What a wonderful weekend to build memories and enjoy being a family.
Sounds like a fabulous time! My hubby just said to me this morning, "We need to be in Tahoe!"
Sounds perfect! We just got back from Alaska a couple of weeks ago. Free from cell phones and lap tops. It was heaven.
Glad you had some quality time.
Best,
Tina
That sounds amazing…we have a family vacation coming up in couple of weeks and I'm looking forward to much needed family time.
I've been away so have missed a lot of posts. This looks just dreamy. And look at your boy go – I'm impressed!
